There’s no gauzy, uplifting imagery in the Texas congressman’s stump speech, no city on a hill. It’s a grim, thousand-points-of-darkness jeremiad that makes the rest of the GOP field’s somber depiction of Obama-era America seem sunny.

But in a moment when voters’ own optimism has faded, Paul’s message is clearly resonating. After finishing a close third in Iowa, the most recent New Hampshire poll has him in second place behind Mitt Romney, and he’s got crowds showing up at event after event to hear his gloomy scenario of a nation “where our personal liberties are under attack” and an economy that could “go over a cliff and suddenly sink rather rapidly.”

What I hate about Ron Paul the most is that he is like the crazy religion guy who constantly predicts the world is going to end. He has been predicting that the economy is constantly going to blow at any second for a LONG time. The only difference now is that he is now getting alot of political attention and people are thinking “holy s***, this guy is right!”. Well try not to catch Ron Paul fever because it’s symptoms are:

The veteran Republican, then 19, can be seen picketing an anti-war sit-in at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, in 1966.

Romney received a draft exemption based upon his status as a “minister of religion” - basically, an exemption for having been a Mormon missionary. He received numerous deferments after that for educational reasons. Romney portrays his mission in Paris as a time of humbling poverty, but The Daily Telegraph has a different story:

The Republican presidential hopeful spent a significant portion of his 30-month mission in a Paris mansion described by fellow American missionaries to The Daily Telegraph as “palace”. It featured stained glass windows, chandeliers, and an extensive art collection and was staffed by two servants.

For most of 1968, Romney lived in the Mission Home, a 19th century neoclassical building in the French capital’s chic 16th arrondissement. “It was a house built by and for rich people,” said Richard Anderson, the son of the mission president at the time of Romney’s stay. Tearful as he described the house, Mr Anderson, 70, of Kaysville, Utah, said Romney aides had asked him not to speak publicly about their time together there.

Romney said of his French lodgings: “I don’t recall any of them having a refrigerator. We shopped before every meal”. Anderson said that as well as a refrigerator, the mansion had “a Spanish chef called Pardo and a house boy, who prepared lunch and supper five days a week”.

Romney added in his comments that “most of the apartments I lived in had no shower or bathtub”. He said: “If we were lucky, we actually bought a hose and we stuck it on the sink.” He said he was forced to use a hole in the ground and a bucket for a lavatory and said, “I lived in a way that people of lower middle income in France lived, and said to myself, ‘Wow, I sure am lucky to have been born in the United States of America.’”

It recently emerged that Mr Romney has plans to quadruple the size of his $12 million California home. The 64-year-old filed an application in San Diego, California, to bulldoze his 3,009-square-foot oceanfront mansion in La Jolla and replace it with an 11,062-square-foot property.

A campaign official said that the GOP hopeful was planning the expansion as the home he bought three years ago ‘is inadequate for their needs’.

ABC debate- This debate which was last night on Jan 07, was quite boring… Newt Gingrich was all hot and heavy over Mitt Romney’s super pac’s attacks! Also keep in mind that a candidate must have “no communication” with it’s super pac over campaign advertisement. Newt fell horribly in the polls because of Romney’s pac attack and Newt said he was going to attack him at this debate… but didn’t? The mediator didn’t ask any questions to make the candidates fight which made this debate boring. Rick Perry was talking about how Iran will “literally move at the speed of light….”. Mitt Romney is the leading candidate and should have been attacked if the other republicans want to win and since he wasn’t everyone considers him to be the winner even though John Huntsman is the ONLY good republican candidate

MSNBC debate - This debate which was on Jan 08, was much more interesting. The mediator instantly started the debate with hot questions. The Republican clowns instantly started snipping at each other like a bunch of crabs. Rick Perry remembered all 3 points this time which made the audience applaud. John Huntsman is still the only logically choice. He has the best foreign affair policy and experience and is the most sympathetic towards homosexual rights(in my opinion I think he believes in gay marriage but cannot says he is not pro-gay marriage because he is trying to get on the republican ticket but keep in mind that he is 100% pro-civil unions and gay adoption which is by far better then any other candidate). Rick Santorum is a worthless bastard of a man and lied about his position on homosexuality. Rick Santorum is anti-gay and anti-abortion, he does NOT believe in civil unions, gay adoption, and is in FAVOR of DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL. He actually attempted to sound like he was pro-gay, but he is a liar and just terrible human being. Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich went head to toe which was hilariousness and all the candidates attacked Mitt Romney(score!). I believe the John Huntsman is the ONLY logical choice and the ONLY candidate that could beat Obama… I would have a tough time choosing between Obama and Huntsman

Transportation is a great enabler of economic growth, the lifeblood of commerce. It moves people to jobs and goods to the marketplace. Without strong transportation arteries, economies stagnate. We will use the transportation funding in the Act to deliver jobs and restore our nation’s economy. Now when you build many large infrastructure projects within the US it creates many JOBS and stimulates the economy(its suppose to be for a jump start it to a great boost but sadly our economy would go back into the hole because of the way it’s set up right now.). The funding for the TIGER project was suppose to be 90 billion dollars but it was reduced to 2.5 billion! That is less then 1/30 of the original funding! Italy has signed a infrastructure bill which grants 6.4 BILLION Euros to improve their infrastructure! Italy is significantly smaller than us plus it has a much smaller economy! They know what needs to be done, why don’t we?
